Privacy Policy

This policy explains what FuelLog collects, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to be readable. FuelLog is a free workout and nutrition tracking app, so we've tried to keep both the app and this policy simple: we collect what's needed to run the Service for you, and not much else.

Who we are

FuelLog is run by an individual developer based in the United States (not a company). We're the "data controller" for the information described here. You can reach us anytime at jacksonveljkovic@gmail.com.

What we collect

We collect a small amount of information, in three categories:

1. Account information

2. The fitness and nutrition data you enter

3. Pro waitlist email (only if you ask to be notified)

No third-party tracking: We don't use advertising, third-party analytics tools, tracking pixels, or marketing cookies — there are no ad trackers and no third-party marketing scripts on the landing page or the app, and we don't quietly collect data about you in the background. The only outside services that ever receive any of your data are the functional service providers we name in "Who else touches your data" below, and only when a feature you're using needs them (for example, looking up a food or generating an AI meal estimate). We do look at our own product metrics (like how many people sign up and keep using FuelLog, and overall AI-feature usage) — but we calculate those ourselves, in aggregate, from the data you already entered, not by tracking your behavior across the web. We don't ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details (there's nothing to pay for today). Your browser and server logs may record basic technical information (like an IP address) as a normal part of serving any website; we don't use that to profile or track you.

Cookies and local storage

FuelLog uses one essential cookie, FUELLOGSESS, to keep you signed in for about 30 days. It's strictly necessary to run the Service — without it you couldn't stay logged in — so it doesn't require a cookie-consent banner. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

The app also uses your browser's local storage to keep a copy of your settings and an in-progress workout draft on your own device, so the app feels fast and doesn't lose your place. That data stays in your browser; you can clear it anytime through your browser settings.

How we use your data

We use your information for one purpose: to provide the Service to you — signing you in, saving your logs, showing your stats, streaks, goals, and suggestions, and responding to you if you contact us. That's it.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to build marketing profiles.

Who else touches your data

We keep the list of third parties short and functional:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or the Service.

How sensitive is this data?

Fitness and nutrition information — your bodyweight, meals, and workouts — is personal and can feel sensitive, so we treat it confidentially and don't share it beyond what's described above. To be clear, though: FuelLog is not a medical service, this data is not a medical record, and we are not a HIPAA-covered entity. The information you log is general tracking data, not clinical health data, and the app's estimates and suggestions are informational only (see the fitness and medical disclaimer in our Terms of Service). Please don't enter information you wouldn't want stored in a general-purpose tracking app.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and the data you enter for as long as your account is active, so your history and stats are there when you come back. If you delete your account (or ask us to), we'll remove your data as described below. Ordinary server backups and technical logs may persist for a short time before rotating out.

Your rights and choices

You can access, export, correct, or delete your personal data. You can do most of this yourself in the app (see below), and for anything else — or if you'd rather we handle it — email jacksonveljkovic@gmail.com from the address on your account, and we'll take care of it.

Doing it yourself: FuelLog has self-serve tools built in. From the Account screen in the app you can export your data — a download of everything in your account (workouts, meals, bodyweight, goals, and settings) as a file — and permanently delete your account and its data. If you email us instead, or ask for something the in-app tools don't cover, we aim to respond within a reasonable time (and within any deadline the law sets).

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example, under the EU/UK GDPR, or under a U.S. state privacy law such as California's CCPA/CPRA or Kentucky's Consumer Data Protection Act — such as the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, object to or restrict certain processing, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We honor these rights for everyone who asks, regardless of location, using the same email process above. For EU/UK users, our lawful basis for processing your account and logged data is performing our agreement with you (running the Service you signed up for) and our legitimate interest in keeping FuelLog secure and working; the AI meal feature runs only on your request when you use it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we don't sell data or serve ads, there's no "sale" or "sharing" of personal information to opt out of.

How we protect your data

We take reasonable steps to protect your information: passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, the site is served over HTTPS, and the database is stored outside the public web directory so it isn't directly reachable from the web. That said, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. Using a strong, unique password helps protect your account. If you forget it, you can reset your password with the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen, which emails a reset link to your account address (see our Terms of Service).

Children

FuelLog isn't for children. You must be at least 16 years old to use it, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, email jacksonveljkovic@gmail.com and we'll delete it.

International users

FuelLog is hosted in the United States, and your data is stored and processed there. If you use FuelLog from outside the U.S. (for example, from the EU or UK), you understand your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FuelLog grows or the law changes. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for meaningful changes we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know (for example, a notice in the app).
